What we do

Interleaf Technologies provides the "missing page" between technology promise, and technology implementation.

We generate concepts for materials and material forms, production processes, and structures that effectively utilize advanced materials, and work with technology partners from a range of industries to develop, validate, and scale-up those concepts for commercialization.

Our initial focus is on concepts that improve the energy efficiency of products, or reduce the environmental footprint of technology, in transportation related industries and platforms.

Please see the projects page for updates on recent projects.

Interleaf's experience covers a wide range of industries, systems, and materials technologies including the following...

Industries:  marine, aerospace, automotive, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability

Systems:  large surface ships, fighter airframes, spacecraft busses and structures, hybrid automobiles, automotive bodies in black, commercial solar systems, and a range of sub-system applications

Materials:  conventional metallics and the full range of advanced composites including ceramics, metallics, and polymeric composites using thermoplastic and thermoset matrices.  Reinforcements include various carbon and glass fibers, and low dielectric fibers such as Nicalon, Quartz, and Spectra.  Various material forms include pre-preg, commingled, tapes, quadrax style woven slit tapes, and aligned long-discontinuous forms

Processes:  wide range of composite processes including conventional vacuum bag and oven or autoclave cure, resin infusion, resin transfer molding, injection molding, advanced fiber placement, electron beam curing, and thermoplastic processes such as thermal stamping

Design Development:  Interleaf utilizes unique approaches to team building and product and process development that builds upon the best of the Lockheed Skunk Works' legacy, and systems engineering best practice
